Designed to deliver real-world horsepower gains of up to 25%, our Holden V6 cams won't compromise the drivability or fuel economy of your vehicle, like some cams can. Stage-2 Kit: Improved Mid Range Power Touring Our stage-2 kit contains a new high-performance camshaft and COMPUTER. We recommend this kit be used in conjunction with a free-flowing exhaust system for maximum performance. This package provides a maximum power gain of 20% between 1500 and 6000rpm. This increase has been achieved without sacrificing any noticeable low-end torque or drivability. HOW The camshaft is one of the most vital components inside your engine, controlling when and how the intake and exhaust valves open and close inside your cylinder heads directly affecting not only how much power you make, but where in the rev range it does it. By altering the three main attributes to camshaft design being lift, duration and lobe-separation we've been able to offer a series of camshafts that provide maximum drivability and economy, whilst also offering up to 25% power gains! The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicines has made the claim, for a variety of reasons, explained by Dr Phil Edwards who said “Walking around in a heavy body is like driving a gas guzzler”. But of course, that needs a little extra explanation to put it in to context.
Farewell Jim Marshall, 1936-2010: Legendary photographer and a true car guy
Thu, 08 Apr 2010Jim Marshall--friend, rock photography legend and occasional AutoWeek contributor--died on March 24 in his sleep at the W Hotel in Manhattan. Marshall, 74, was scheduled to speak that night at the John Varvatos store in SoHo in New York, and work from his new book, Match Prints, was to be shown beginning on March 26 at Staley-Wise Gallery, also in SoHo. Marshall began his career in 1960, a time he used to say was "the beginning of something special." Boy, was he right.
New BMW 1-series bows with turbo four-cylinder power across the lineup

The upcoming baby Bimmer will sport all twin-scroll turbocharged four-cylinder engines burning either gasoline or diesel, hauling around a car that's grown in every dimension except height. BMW also is expanding its use of eight-speed automatic transmissions to the 1-series lineup and making the BMW EfficientDynamics technology package standard.
